Dual-Site Environmental, Health & Safety Leader

Job Summary

The Dual-Site Environmental, Health & Safety Leader at Steel Technologies LLC will oversee EHS programs across two locations in Mishawaka, IN and Portage, IN. This senior role drives safety culture, compliance and continuous improvement while collaborating with operations, maintenance and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct all EHS activities for both sites, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Develop, implement and monitor cost‑effective EHS policies, procedures and training programs that raise awareness and reduce risk.
• Conduct regular site audits, inspections and incident investigations; produce corrective action plans and track closure.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality and other workgroups to integrate safety considerations into daily processes and capital projects.
• Report EHS performance metrics to senior leadership and recommend strategic improvements.
• Manage emergency response plans, drills and incident communication.
• Maintain accurate EHS documentation, permits and reporting requirements.
• Mentor and coach site personnel on best safety practices and foster a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of progressive EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, MSHA and applicable Indiana regulations.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage dual‑site responsibilities.
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills.

Compensation

Salary: $110,715 annually.

Location

Portage, Porter County, Indiana, United States (dual‑site with Mishawaka, IN).
