Systems Engineer

Helixstorm is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer in Costa Mesa, Orange County, CA to join its Managed Services team. This role focuses on rapid resolution of system alerts and maintaining client infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and resolve alerts from client‑managed devices across diverse environments.
• Design, install, and configure network and server infrastructure according to best practices.
• Document system architectures, changes, and support procedures for each client.
• Collaborate with the Managed Services Operations Manager to prioritize workload and meet SLA targets.
• Provide tier‑2/3 technical support for complex issues, escalating when necessary.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and after‑hours incident response.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, network administration, or managed services.
• Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux/Unix, virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and routing.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, VCP, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Experience with automation tools (PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).
• Familiarity with monitoring solutions like SolarWinds, Nagios, or Zabbix.

Compensation & Benefits
