Recent Activity
Join a pioneering tech firm where your expertise in circuit design and power systems will directly shape the future of sustainable IoT devices. This fully remote role offers unparalleled autonomy to lead high-impact projects from your home office, collaborating with a global team of innovators. If you’re ready to engineer solutions that merge cutting-edge technology with real-world environmental impact, this is your platform.
About the Role
As our Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be the architectural force behind our core hardware platforms. You will take concepts from schematic capture and PCB layout through prototyping, testing, and into mass production. Your work will focus on developing energy-efficient power management systems and robust communication interfaces for next-generation IoT sensors used in smart cities and industrial automation. This is a hands-on, senior-level position that demands both deep technical mastery and the ability to mentor junior engineers in a fully distributed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design of analog and digital circuits, including power supply units (AC/DC, DC/DC), sensor interfaces, and RF communication modules (Wi-Fi, LoRa, NB-IoT).
- Perform rigorous simulation, analysis, and validation (SPICE, signal integrity, thermal analysis) to ensure designs meet stringent reliability and efficiency standards.
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and software teams to integrate hardware seamlessly into complete product ecosystems.
- Oversee PCB layout reviews, focusing on EMI/EMC compliance, manufacturability, and cost optimization for high-volume production.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including datasheets, FMEA, and test procedures.
- Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship to a small team of mid-level and junior engineers.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
- 7+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with a proven track record of designing and shipping at least two consumer or industrial electronic products.
- Expert-level proficiency in ECAD tools (Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, or Mentor Graphics) for schematic capture and PCB design.
- Deep understanding of power electronics, battery management systems (BMS), and low-power design principles for battery-operated devices.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment ( oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators) for bring-up, debugging, and validation.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations (UL, CE, FCC, RoHS).
- Excellent communication skills and a self-motivated, disciplined approach to remote collaboration.
Highly Desired Skills
- Experience with IoT security hardware (Secure Elements, TPMs) and over-the-air (OTA) firmware update architectures.
- Background in renewable energy systems, energy harvesting, or grid-tied power electronics.
- Familiarity with Design for X (DFX) principles: testability, manufacturability, cost, and sustainability.
- Prior experience in a senior or lead engineer role guiding project timelines and technical decisions.
Salary Range
Based on industry standards for a Senior Electrical Engineer in a remote, high-impact role within the technology sector, the compensation for this position is estimated at $120,000 – $160,000 USD per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package. The final offer will be determined by the candidate’s specific experience, expertise, and geographic location.
