About the Role

As an Artificial Intelligence Researcher at Nexus AI Labs, you will design, prototype, and evaluate novel algorithms that push the boundaries of what AI can achieve. You will own research projects from ideation through publication and production hand‑off, working closely with engineers, product managers, and ethicists to ensure that every advancement is both technically rigorous and socially responsible.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct original research in deep learning, reinforcement learning, large language models, or multimodal AI.
• Publish findings at premier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, and ACL.
• Translate research prototypes into scalable, production‑ready pipelines.
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the lab’s open‑source initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define research roadmaps aligned with product strategy.
• Stay current with emerging literature and integrate relevant advances into ongoing projects.

Requirements

• Ph.D. (or equivalent research experience) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proven track record of first‑author publications at top-tier AI conferences or journals.
• Expert proficiency in Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and modern GPU/TPU workflows.
• Strong mathematical foundation in optimization, probability, and information theory.
• Experience designing and running large‑scale experiments on distributed compute clusters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior industry research experience at a leading AI lab or tech company.

Salary Range

$120,000 – $180,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience, research impact, and geographic cost‑of‑living adjustments.
