Senior Systems Engineer, Technical Support
About This Position
Calix is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer, Technical Support to join its US team. In this role you will provide advanced technical assistance for Calix One, the AI‑powered cloud platform that helps Communication Service Providers modernise their networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Tier‑2/3 troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for complex hardware and software issues on the Calix One platform.
- Collaborate with product engineering, field service, and customer success teams to resolve incidents and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge‑base articles, and standard operating procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to on‑call rotation, ensuring rapid response to critical outages.
- Participate in customer workshops, product demos, and post‑implementation reviews to ensure successful deployments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent technical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise‑grade network or systems engineering, preferably in telecom or cloud environments.
- Strong expertise with Linux/Unix systems, virtualisation, containers, and scripting (Python, Bash).
- Hands‑on experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP) and broadband access technologies.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and customer‑service skills.
