Recent Activity
Join our 100% remote team at EcoLogic Engineering Partners and become a key player in designing resilient water systems for communities across the United States. We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to lead complex hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater management design, and floodplain mapping projects. If you are passionate about sustainable infrastructure, climate adaptation, and technical excellence, this fully remote role offers the flexibility and challenge you have been looking for.
About the Role
As a Remote Water Resources Engineer, you will take ownership of technical deliverables for a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects. From urban stormwater drainage design to watershed master planning, your work will directly impact community safety and environmental sustainability. You will collaborate closely with project managers, environmental scientists, and civil engineers using cutting-edge modeling software and GIS tools. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States, provided you have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Hydrologic & Hydraulic Analysis: Perform detailed modeling using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D/2D), StormCAD, SWMM, or similar software for floodplain mapping, detention sizing, and conveyance design.
- Stormwater Management Design: Develop innovative stormwater control measures (SCMs), including low-impact development (LID) features, green infrastructure, detention ponds, and underground storage systems.
- Permitting & Compliance: Prepare and manage NPDES permits, MS4 compliance documentation, SWPPPs, and local land disturbance permits.
- Floodplain Mapping & FEMA Coordination: Support Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) processes, Flood Insurance Studies (FIS) updates, and risk assessments using FEMA guidelines.
- Technical Documentation: Author comprehensive drainage reports, hydrology studies, technical memoranda, and design criteria documents for both internal and client review.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, attend virtual client meetings, and provide technical guidance to junior staff and CAD designers.

- Advanced proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS/QGIS, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local stormwater regulations and floodplain management standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration with clients and regulatory agencies.

- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) designation.
- Experience with green infrastructure design and LID implementation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits
