About the Role

As a Venture Partner at Apex Ventures, you act as a strategic extension of the investment team. Your primary mission is to identify breakthrough companies in sectors such as AI, climate tech, fintech, and digital health, conduct rigorous due diligence, and champion portfolio companies through growth milestones. This fully remote position offers the autonomy to manage your pipeline, attend virtual board meetings, and collaborate with a distributed team of seasoned investors.

Key Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing & Evaluation

• Build and maintain a proprietary deal flow across target verticals.
• Perform market sizing, competitive analysis, and financial modeling for prospective investments.
• Present investment theses to the Investment Committee with clear risk‑adjusted return projections.

Portfolio Support

• Serve as a trusted advisor to founders on strategy, fundraising, and talent acquisition.
• Facilitate introductions to follow‑on investors, corporate partners, and domain experts.
• Monitor key performance indicators and report quarterly progress to limited partners.

Fund Operations & Thought Leadership

• Contribute to fund‑level strategy, including sector allocation and reserve planning.
• Publish insights, host webinars, and speak at industry events to elevate the firm’s brand.
• Mentor junior analysts and assist in refining the firm’s investment playbook.

Requirements

Experience

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in venture capital, growth equity, or high‑growth startup leadership. A track record of at least three successful exits or follow‑on financings as a lead investor or operator is strongly preferred.

Skills

• Deep expertise in financial modeling, cap‑table management, and term‑sheet negotiation.
• Exceptional network within the U.S. startup ecosystem, especially in AI, climate, fintech, or health tech.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment, managing multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for crafting investment memos and presenting to stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in a quantitative field is a plus.

Salary Range

$180,000 – $250,000 USD/year base compensation, plus carried interest participation and performance‑based bonuses aligned with fund returns.
