About the Role

We are seeking a highly empathetic, resilient, and organized Substance Abuse Counselor to join our growing telehealth department. In this role, you won’t just be checking boxes; you will be a lifeline for clients battling addiction, providing them with the tools, guidance, and emotional support necessary to reclaim their lives.

As a remote professional, you will manage a diverse caseload of clients through secure video conferencing platforms and digital communication tools. You will be responsible for conducting initial assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and facilitating group or individual counseling sessions. Because this position is entirely remote, you have the autonomy to design a workspace that fosters focus and empathy, allowing you to deliver high-quality care from the comfort of your own home.

Your day-to-day will involve documenting client progress in our HIPAA-compliant Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals, and staying updated on the latest evidence-based practices in addiction recovery. Salary Range

$55,000 – $82,000 USD per year (Based on experience and licensure level)

Requirements

To excel in this role and maintain the high standard of care our clients deserve, you must meet the following criteria:

Education and Licensure

• A Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field is highly preferred.
• Must hold a valid state license to practice, such as LCSW, LMHC, LPC, or LCAS.
• Certification in addiction counseling (CADC or similar) is a significant advantage.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in substance abuse counseling, crisis intervention, or behavioral health.
• Deep understanding of addiction models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
• Exceptional digital literacy; you must be comfortable navigating telehealth software and digital documentation tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport through a screen.
• High level of self-discipline and time-management skills to thrive in a remote environment.
