Key Responsibilities

Fire Protection Design & Engineering Analysis

• Develop comprehensive fire protection engineering designs, including sprinkler system layouts, special hazard suppression, smoke control timelines, and egress modeling using industry-leading simulation software.
• Perform rigorous building code and life safety code analysis against NFPA, IBC, ICC, and FM Global standards to ensure every project exceeds baseline regulatory requirements.

Project Leadership & Remote Client Collaboration

• Lead virtual coordination meetings with MEP teams, structural engineers, and local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to streamline plan reviews and secure timely approvals.
• Author detailed engineering reports, hydraulic calculation binders, and fire risk assessments that serve as legal documentation for commercial, healthcare, and industrial facilities.

Requirements

Education & Professional Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering preferred; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) candidates with a clear path to PE licensure within 12 months will be considered.
• Completed coursework or continuing education in fire dynamics, explosion protection, or life safety code development is strongly desired.

Experience & Technical Proficiency

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in fire protection design, code consulting, or life safety engineering for commercial, institutional, or mission-critical buildings.
