About the Role

As a Remote Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout plans for a variety of client projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, field engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet industry standards, client specifications, and budgetary constraints. This role offers the autonomy to manage your own schedule while delivering high‑quality work on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop single‑line diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar tools.
• Perform load calculations, short‑circuit analyses, and voltage drop studies to ensure design compliance.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs into mechanical and civil layouts.
• Review vendor submittals, request for information (RFIs), and shop drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain design documentation, revision control, and project files in a centralized cloud‑based repository.
• Participate in design reviews, providing technical feedback and suggesting improvements for efficiency and safety.
• Stay current with NEC, IEC, IEEE, and other relevant codes and standards.

Requirements

Must‑Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as an Electrical Designer or similar role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical (or EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of power distribution, control systems, and lighting design principles.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a remote work setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with renewable energy systems (solar, wind) or industrial automation projects.

Salary Range

Based on industry standards for remote Electrical Designers in the United States, the expected compensation for this role is $68,000 – $95,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience, certifications, and the complexity of projects assigned.
