About the Role

As a Remote Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and management of civil works such as roadways, bridges, water systems, and site development projects. Using industry‑standard software, you’ll produce detailed calculations, drawings, and reports that meet federal, state, and local regulations. Although you’ll work from home, you’ll stay connected through virtual meetings, cloud‑based collaboration tools, and occasional site visits (when required) to ensure quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary and final designs for transportation, utilities, and land‑development projects.
• Perform structural analysis, hydrologic modeling, and cost estimating using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, SAP2000, or similar platforms.
• Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and construction documents for client review and agency approval.
• Coordinate with architects, environmental specialists, and construction managers to resolve design conflicts.
• Conduct virtual site inspections and monitor project progress through digital dashboards.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and interns, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET‑accredited preferred); PE license is a strong plus.
• 3‑5 years of professional experience in civil design, preferably in transportation, municipal, or land‑development sectors.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Bentley OpenRoads; familiarity with GIS and stormwater modeling tools (HEC‑HMS, SWMM) is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of relevant codes (AASHTO, ASTM, local DOT standards) and environmental regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex technical information clearly to stakeholders.
