Sr Staff Accountant

Lapmaster Wolters is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its finance team in Mount Prospect, Cook County, US. This full‑time role reports to the Global Controller and CFO, with occasional remote work possible but primarily on‑site.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state and local tax returns.
• Support internal and external audit processes, providing required documentation and explanations.
• Analyze variances, identify cost‑saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on budgeting, forecasting and special projects.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, tax regulations and audit procedures.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and maintain high attention to detail.
