Senior Transportation Planner/Engineer

LSA Associates INC is hiring a Senior Transportation Planner/Engineer for its Mobility group in Irvine, Orange County, US. Lead a team of professionals, conduct advanced traffic analysis, and manage public‑ and private‑sector transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary staff of planners and engineers.
• Develop and review traffic operations analyses using HCM tools such as Synchro, HCS, and Vistro.
• Prepare design and operational plans that comply with AASHTO, California MUTCD, and Caltrans standards.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications for both public and private contracts.
• Produce technical reports, presentations, and permit documentation.
• Coordinate with local agencies, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure project success.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• PE license or eligibility preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in transportation planning/engineering, including staff management.
• Advanced proficiency with HCM software (Synchro, HCS, Vistro).
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO, California MUTCD, and Caltrans design guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
