Job Summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is hiring a Senior Software Test Engineer – II to work remotely for the Veterans Affairs (VA) department. This full‑time role offers a competitive salary of $119,738.63 and requires a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using C#, .NET, Java, or Python.
• Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scripts that validate complex software systems.
• Execute functional, regression, performance, and security tests, and analyze results to identify defects.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and VA stakeholders to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and defect tracking.
• Continuously improve testing processes and adopt best practices for DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software testing with strong programming skills.
• Proficiency in one or more languages: C#, .NET, Java, or Python.
• Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, NUnit, JUnit, pytest) and CI/CD platforms.
• Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Public Trust (MBI) security clearance or ability to obtain it.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
