Senior Real Estate Accountant

Robert Half is recruiting a Senior Real Estate Accountant for a client in William Penn Annex East, Philadelphia County. This role leads accounting for real estate funds and property operations, delivering precise financial reporting and insightful analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting for multiple real estate funds, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, variance analysis, and KPI reports for property owners and senior management.
• Coordinate with asset managers, leasing teams, and external auditors to ensure compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and capital expenditure tracking for real estate portfolios.
• Identify process improvements, automate reporting routines, and support system enhancements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of real estate accounting experience, preferably with commercial/property funds.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including lease accounting (ASC 842) and fund accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems such as Yardi, MRI, or NetSuite.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to meet tight deadlines.
