Job Summary
Merck is seeking a Rare Disease Account Specialist to join its sales team in Grandview Heights, Franklin County, US. The role focuses on delivering clinical information, education, and training to healthcare providers within the rare disease market.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide healthcare professionals with up‑to‑date clinical data, product information, and educational resources.
- Develop and deliver tailored clinical training programs for physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and address patient‑centric goals in the community.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders and rare‑disease specialists.
- Track and report market insights, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform business strategy.
- Support the execution of Merck’s rare disease initiatives and help expand market presence.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, medical affairs, or a clinical support role.
- Strong understanding of rare disease therapeutics and regulatory environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data for diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
Compensation
Base salary: $206,000.50 per year.
