Senior Cloud Migration Engineer

Job Summary

Openkyber is seeking a Senior Cloud Migration Engineer in Alaska, US. This contract role focuses on migrating Looker Business Intelligence assets to Tableau, ensuring seamless data continuity and KPI parity.

Key Responsibilities

• Migrate existing Looker Pro dashboards, reports, and Looks to Tableau Desktop, Server, or Online.
• Re‑create LookML models, dimensions, and measures in Tableau using calculated fields, data sources, and extracts.
• Maintain 1:1 parity of key performance indicators (KPIs) between Looker and Tableau environments.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to validate data integrity post‑migration.
• Develop and document migration best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members during migration projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve migration‑related issues quickly to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with Openkyber’s security and governance policies throughout the migration process.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, or related fields.
• Deep expertise in Looker (LookML) and Tableau (Desktop, Server, Online).
• Proven track record of large‑scale BI migrations with a focus on data accuracy.
• Strong SQL proficiency and experience with data modeling.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with stakeholders across the organization.
