Remote Principal Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

The Remote Principal Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role at Insight Global supports the firm’s cloud footprint from Grand Central, Manhattan. This senior engineering position designs, analyzes, and maintains Azure environments while collaborating with internal IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure solutions across the organization.
• Lead architecture reviews, capacity planning, and performance tuning for critical workloads.
• Partner with security, networking, and application teams to ensure compliance and best‑practice configurations.
• Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or PowerShell.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on cloud migration projects.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex incidents in a 24/7 environment.
• Document architecture, standards, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT infrastructure experience with at least 5 years focused on Azure cloud platforms.
• Strong expertise in Azure IaaS, PaaS, networking, security, and governance.
• Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, Bicep) and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python).
• Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
• Professional certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and time‑management skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with multi‑cloud or hybrid environments.
• Background in large‑scale migrations and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Knowledge of container orchestration (AKS) and serverless services.

Compensation

Annual salary: $165,204.95 (USD)
