About This Position
Merck is hiring a Rare Disease Account Specialist to join its Atlanta, Fulton County team. In this role you will provide clinical information, education and training to healthcare providers, supporting the growing rare‑disease market.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver product knowledge, clinical data and educational resources to physicians, pharmacists and healthcare systems.
- Conduct on‑site and virtual training sessions on rare‑disease therapies and treatment protocols.
- Collaborate with sales, medical affairs and market access teams to align messaging and meet patient‑care goals.
- Identify and develop relationships with key opinion leaders and specialty clinics.
- Track and report on account activity, market trends and competitive insights.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, medical affairs or disease‑state education, preferably in rare diseases.
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to interpret scientific data.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills.
- Self‑motivated, team‑oriented and able to manage a territory independently.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
Compensation
Base salary: $234,406.69 annually (fixed). Additional performance incentives may apply.
