QC Microbiologist

Actalent is seeking a QC Microbiologist to join its quality control microbiology team in Portsmouth, Rockingham County, US. The role focuses on supporting process and final drug product testing, stability studies, and compliance documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing on in‑process and finished drug product lots.
• Conduct stability study sampling and analysis, including HVAC and environmental monitoring.
• Review and release assay results, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Assist with method qualifications, transfers, and validation activities.
• Generate and maintain quality records such as deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and test method updates.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
• Experience in QC microbiology within a pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
• Familiarity with GMP, FDA regulations, and quality systems (CAPA, deviation handling, change control).
• Hands‑on experience with microbial enumeration, sterility testing, and environmental monitoring.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
