Excelligence is seeking a creative and detail‑driven Production Designer to join its Really Good Stuff (RGS) team in Huntington, Fairfield County. In this role you will turn educational concepts into print‑ready artwork, ensuring every design meets production standards and inspires teachers and students.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, instructional designers, and illustrators to develop visual concepts for educational materials.
- Translate sketches and storyboards into high‑resolution, print‑ready files (PDF, InDesign, Illustrator) following brand guidelines.
- Prepare and manage production specifications, color separations, and file proofs for vendors.
- Conduct quality checks on final files to guarantee accuracy, color fidelity, and compliance with printing requirements.
- Maintain an organized asset library and version control system for all design files.
- Stay current with industry trends, new software tools, and printing technologies to continuously improve workflow efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 3+ years of production design experience, preferably in educational publishing or related print media.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and familiarity with pre‑press workflows.
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and print production processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities; comfortable presenting design concepts to cross‑functional teams.
Compensation & Benefits
