About This Position

Job Summary

Openkyber is seeking a skilled Network Automation Engineer to join our team in Alaska, US. This full‑time position offers a competitive salary range of $104,000 – $108,160 and focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining automated network solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain network automation scripts and playbooks using Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
  • Design, test, and deploy automated workflows for provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring of routers, switches, firewalls, and cloud networking services.
  • Integrate network automation with CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, reliable delivery of changes.
  • Collaborate with network architects and security teams to embed best‑practice controls into automated processes.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis of network incidents and create automated remediation where possible.
  • Maintain documentation, version control, and compliance records for all automation assets.
  • Stay current with emerging networking technologies (SD‑WAN, NFV, intent‑based networking) and recommend enhancements.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or network automation.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting and automation frameworks such as Ansible, SaltStack, or Cisco NSO.
  • Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and network design principles.
  • Hands‑on experience with network APIs (REST, NETCONF, YANG) and programmable interfaces.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Experience with cloud networking platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently and in a remote‑hybrid environment.

Preferred Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Cisco DevNet, or Juniper Networks Automation certification.
