About This Position
Lead, Corporate Tax – Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. Join a globally recognized mining company and take full ownership of a complex Canadian legal entity, acting as the primary tax advisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end corporate tax compliance for the Canadian entity, including filing of T2 returns and related schedules.
- Prepare accurate tax provisions and financial statement disclosures in line with Canadian GAAP and IFRS.
- Lead tax audit defence, liaise with CRA auditors, and resolve any audit issues efficiently.
- Provide strategic tax advice to senior finance and operational leaders on transactions, restructuring, and cross‑border implications.
- Stay current on federal and provincial tax legislation, ensuring the company’s tax positions remain compliant and optimized.
- Mentor junior tax staff and coordinate with external advisors as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Taxation; CPA or CA designation preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of corporate tax experience in Canada, preferably within a large, multi‑jurisdictional organization.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate tax law, GST/HST, and international tax principles.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex tax projects and audits independently.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
