About This Position
Job Summary
Extreme Steel Inc. is seeking a Head of Environmental, Health, and Safety to lead EHS strategy for its Warrenton, Fauquier County location. This senior role oversees compliance, risk management, and safety culture across all steel fabrication and erection projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies that meet OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
- Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Conduct regular site audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments.
- Provide training programs and safety orientations for all employees and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineering, and operations to embed safety into project planning and execution.
- Prepare and present EHS performance reports to senior leadership and client stakeholders.
- Manage EHS budgets, vendor contracts, and emergency response plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years progressive experience in EHS roles within construction, manufacturing, or steel fabrication.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or OSHA Authorized Trainer highly desired.
- Proven track record of reducing incident rates and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations applicable to Virginia.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
