The Fiber Optic Field Assistant role at ThisWay is a full‑time position based in Dallas, Texas. You will support the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks while receiving paid, on‑the‑job training and industry certifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with the deployment of fiber optic cables in residential and commercial sites.
• Perform splice, test, and termination procedures following industry standards.
• Document work orders, site conditions, and test results accurately in the company’s system.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and safety gear; ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and perform basic repairs under supervision.
• Travel to various locations across the Dallas area and throughout Texas as project demands require.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and power tools.
• Basic understanding of telecommunications concepts or willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in various weather conditions.
