Job Summary
WSP in Canada is hiring an Experienced Technician for Lab and Field Services in Dartmouth, Halifax region. This role leads project teams across Atlantic Canada, overseeing field and laboratory staff, client communication, and quality‑control testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate field and laboratory personnel on multiple project sites.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and timely issue resolution.
- Review technical work, monitor performance, and provide mentorship to junior staff.
- Manage materials quality‑control testing programs both in‑field and in‑lab, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and deliver project reports, progress updates, and documentation required for safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate testing results into overall project deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate risks, enforce safety protocols, and promote continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Post‑secondary education in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in laboratory and field testing environments, preferably within infrastructure or environmental projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality‑control procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and client‑management skills.
- Ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency with data analysis software and reporting tools.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Atlantic Canada.
