About This Position
Job Summary
Electrical Engineer at DMC Engineering in Chicago, Cook County (Hybrid). Design complete electrical packages, create BOMs, layouts, wiring diagrams, and perform power load calculations while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop full electrical design packages including bill of materials, schematics, layout drawings, loop wiring diagrams, and single‑line diagrams.
- Size components, generate I/O lists, and conduct power load and fault current calculations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and clients to capture requirements, resolve design issues, and provide technical support.
- Prepare and review design documentation, specifications, and test plans.
- Participate in design reviews, peer reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain design files in PLM/PDMS systems and ensure version control.
- Support field installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in electrical design, preferably in industrial or commercial projects.
- Proficiency with CAD/E‑CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Strong knowledge of NEC, IEC standards, and industry best practices.
- Experience with power calculations, load analysis, and component sizing.
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote design work with on‑site collaboration.
Compensation & Benefits
