Job Summary
PRC Resources is hiring a Dirt Work Superintendent in Comfort, Kendall County, Texas. This field‑based leadership role oversees complex earth‑moving projects in steep, rocky terrain and includes regional travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of earthwork operations from mobilization to final grading, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Manage daily crew activities, subcontractors, equipment fleets, and material deliveries on multiple job sites.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and progress reports; proactively address any variances.
- Conduct site inspections, identify potential hazards, and enforce OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Coordinate with project engineers, estimators, and client representatives to resolve technical issues and optimize workflow.
- Prepare and submit daily logs, punch lists, and close‑out documentation for each project.
- Mentor and train crew members, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years experience in earthwork or heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a superintendent or senior supervisory role.
- Proven track record managing projects in challenging terrain (steep grades, rocky outcrops, limited access).
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operations, grading software, and construction estimating tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to travel regionally as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary: $139,639.83 (fixed). Competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
