Cardinal Health is seeking a Director of Business Development – Specialty Pharmacy to lead growth initiatives for its Innovative Care Pharmacy division in Boise, Ada County, US. This senior role drives provider engagement, payer contracts, and strategic partnerships across cell, gene, and rare disease therapies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to expand Cardinal Health’s specialty pharmacy market share.
- Identify, negotiate, and manage payer contracts and provider agreements that align with corporate revenue goals.
- Collaborate with clinical, data analytics, and reimbursement teams to create value‑based solutions for biotechnology and specialty pharmaceutical partners.
- Lead a high‑performing business development team, setting targets, coaching staff, and monitoring performance metrics.
- Maintain deep knowledge of cell, gene, rare disease, and limited‑distribution drug landscapes to spot emerging opportunities.
- Represent Cardinal Health at industry conferences, webinars, and stakeholder meetings to enhance brand visibility.
- Prepare and present business cases, financial models, and ROI analyses to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in specialty pharmacy, biotech, or pharmaceutical business development.
- Proven track record of closing high‑value contracts and building strategic partnerships.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel regionally (approximately 25% of the time).
Compensation & Benefits
