About This Position

Highmark Health is seeking an Epic Systems Analyst – Ambulatory to join its Washington, D.C., US team. This role will configure, roll out, and support Epic Ambulatory applications while collaborating with end‑users to solve system issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, build, test, implement, and maintain Epic Ambulatory modules.
  • Gather and document business and technical requirements through detailed analysis and stakeholder interviews.
  • Configure Epic workflows, interfaces, and reports to meet clinical and operational needs.
  • Provide day‑to‑day support, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve system problems promptly.
  • Develop and deliver end‑user training and create documentation such as user guides and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with IT, clinical teams, and external Epic support to ensure seamless integration with other health‑system applications.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing cycles, and post‑implementation reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience configuring and supporting Epic Ambulatory (or other Epic) applications.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate clinical workflows into system designs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clinicians, IT staff, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Epic reporting tools, Clarity, and data extraction methods.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Epic certification(s) for Ambulatory or related modules.
  • Experience with system integration, HL7, and interface development.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITECH) and best practices.
