Neal R Gross & Co is hiring an experienced Digital Court Reporter (Contract) to work remotely from Miami, Miami-Dade County, US. This contract position offers a fixed annual compensation of $59,236.55 and involves creating verbatim transcripts of legal proceedings for federal, state and private‑sector clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture real‑time, word‑for‑word records of court hearings, depositions, and legislative sessions using stenotype or voice‑writing equipment.
- Produce accurate, proof‑read transcripts and certify them according to jurisdictional standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all case materials.
- Collaborate with attorneys, judges, and court staff to resolve transcription queries.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Rules of Evidence and company quality‑control protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Digital Court Reporter (e.g., NCRA, NRS) with at least 2 years of courtroom or deposition experience.
- Proficiency in real‑time reporting software (e.g., Stenograph, Eclipse, Case CATalyst).
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 225 wpm) and accuracy (≥99%).
- Strong grasp of legal terminology and courtroom procedures.
- Reliable high‑speed internet connection and a quiet home office environment.
