Cybersecurity Engineer / Site Lead

SIM&S, Inc. is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer / Site Lead in Linthicum Heights, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. This senior role combines technical leadership with hands‑on engineering for DoD cyber missions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical authority for cybersecurity, systems engineering, and cyber operations across the site.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, set performance goals, and ensure delivery of mission‑critical solutions.
• Design, implement, and validate security architectures, hardening guidelines, and incident response processes.
• Manage day‑to‑day site operations, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and compliance with DoD policies.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams to align technical solutions with mission objectives.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability testing, and remediation tracking.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical training on emerging threats and tools.

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with full eligibility for re‑investigation.
• Current CISSP certification or an equivalent recognized credential.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, preferably within a DoD or classified environment.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and delivering large‑scale security programs.
• Deep knowledge of network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), endpoint protection, and threat hunting.
• Hands‑on experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, and vulnerability scanners.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present complex technical concepts to senior leadership.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST SP 800‑53.
• Familiarity with secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
• Previous work in a site‑lead or program‑manager capacity.
