Job Summary

UMB Bank is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel – Corporate Trust to work remotely with a hybrid schedule based in Douglas, Juneau, US. This full‑time role focuses on structured finance, escrow, municipal and corporate trust transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and comment on structured finance documents, escrow agreements, municipal and corporate bond notes, and related transaction paperwork.
• Provide strategic legal advice to protect Corporate Trust’s interests.
• Draft and negotiate amendments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external counsel, and counterparties to resolve legal issues.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of trust law, securities regulations, and industry best practices.
• Support due‑diligence processes and assist in closing transactions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission.
• 2‑5 years of experience in corporate trust, structured finance, or related banking law.
• Strong analytical and drafting skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote‑hybrid environment.

Compensation & Benefits
