About This Position
Actalent is seeking an Analytical Chemist for its Technical Center in Wellston, Saint Louis County, US. This role involves performing quality testing for food and beverage products, especially beer, within a collaborative laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using chromatography, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry techniques.
- Generate and review test reports, ensuring data integrity and compliance with FDA, USDA, and internal quality standards.
- Collaborate with microbiology, stability, and materials testing teams to troubleshoot analytical issues and support product development.
- Maintain laboratory instruments, perform calibrations, and document preventive maintenance activities.
- Assist in method development, validation, and transfer for new beer formulations and other beverage lines.
- Participate in audits, root‑cause investigations, and continuous‑improvement projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 2+ years of hands‑on analytical experience in a food‑beverage or related manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV‑Vis, and wet‑lab techniques.
- Strong understanding of GLP, GMP, and regulatory requirements for food safety.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
- Detail‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
Compensation & Benefits
