Job Summary
Pearson is seeking an Advanced Specialist, Service Provider (School Counseling, and Career) to join its Pearson Virtual Schools division in Douglas, Juneau, US. This role focuses on delivering high‑quality counseling and career guidance services to K‑12 virtual learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive school counseling services, including academic, social‑emotional, and career planning support to students across Pearson’s virtual schools.
- Develop and deliver career exploration curricula, workshops, and one‑on‑one coaching sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create individualized student support plans.
- Analyze student data to identify trends, assess program effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations governing school counseling and career services.
- Stay current with educational technology tools and integrate them into counseling practices.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of Pearson Virtual Schools’ counseling framework.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, Education, or a related field.
- Valid counseling certification/licensure for the state of Alaska or ability to obtain it.
- Minimum 5 years of experience providing school counseling and career guidance, preferably in a virtual or blended learning environment.
- Strong knowledge of K‑12 curriculum standards, college admissions processes, and career pathways.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with virtual learning platforms, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $91,590.18 annually (fixed). Pearson offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, tuition assistance, and generous paid time off.
