Engine Overhaul Flight Deck Leader – GE Aerospace, Custom House, US
GE Aerospace is seeking an experienced Engine Overhaul Flight Deck Leader to drive performance and quality in our Custom House, Orleans Parish facility. This senior role combines technical expertise with team leadership to ensure engine overhaul projects meet safety, schedule, and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Flight Deck team through all phases of engine overhaul, including disassembly, inspection, repair, testing and re‑assembly.
- Develop and execute detailed work plans, ensuring compliance with FAA/EASA regulations and GE engineering standards.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnaround time, first‑pass yield, and cost variance, implementing corrective actions when needed.
- Mentor and coach technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability.
- Coordinate closely with supply chain, quality, and engineering departments to secure parts, resolve non‑conformances, and drive root‑cause analysis.
- Prepare and present daily/weekly status reports to senior management and customers.
- Champion sustainability initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce waste and energy consumption during overhaul processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
- Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience in jet engine overhaul, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of jet‑engine components, test equipment, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams in a high‑pace, safety‑critical environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency with GE’s digital maintenance platforms and MS Office suite.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Compensation
Annual salary: $92,452.05 (fixed). Competitive benefits package includes health insurance, 401(k) match, tuition assistance, and paid time off.
