About the Role

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to provide evidence‑based therapy and support to adults struggling with addiction. In this remote position you will conduct virtual intake assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver weekly counseling sessions via secure video platforms. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, case managers, and peer support specialists to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.

Key Responsibilities

– Perform comprehensive assessments and document client histories in accordance with HIPAA and state regulations.

– Create and implement personalized recovery plans, setting measurable goals and tracking outcomes.

– Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions using video conferencing tools.

– Provide crisis intervention and after‑hours support as required.

– Maintain accurate clinical records, submit required reports, and ensure compliance with licensing standards.

– Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to share insights and best practices.

– Develop safety plans and crisis resources for clients at risk of relapse.

Requirements

Professional Qualifications

– Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a focus on addiction.

– Minimum 3 years of experience in substance abuse counseling, preferably in a telehealth setting.

– Strong knowledge of evidence‑based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Medication‑Assisted Treatment.

– Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to build trust in a virtual environment.

– Experience with trauma‑informed care and crisis line management is highly desirable.
