About the Role

Key Responsibilities

– Review project specifications and construction drawings to develop comprehensive cost estimates, ensuring every line item is accounted for.

– Perform quantity takeoffs, material pricing, and labor rate calculations using industry‑standard software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and CostX.

– Conduct risk assessments and incorporate contingency factors to guarantee profitable bids, while monitoring market trends for material cost fluctuations.

– Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to validate pricing and secure favorable terms, fostering strong partnerships that enhance bid competitiveness.

– Prepare and present bid proposals to senior leadership and clients, answering technical questions, negotiating terms, and securing award of contracts.

– Maintain a dynamic database of historical costs and update pricing models regularly to reflect real‑time market data and project learnings.

After bid submission, you will collaborate with the project controls team to refine estimates, perform value engineering, and monitor cost performance throughout construction to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.

Requirements

Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands‑on experience.

– Minimum 3 years of experience estimating commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects, with a proven track record of winning bids.

– Proficiency with estimating tools including PlanSwift, Bluebeam, CostX, and familiarity with BIM software such as Revit.

– Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex blueprints, specifications, and site conditions, delivering precise quantity takeoffs.

– Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

– Demonstrated self‑discipline and remote‑work habits, including reliable high‑speed internet and a dedicated workspace.

– Optional but advantageous: Certified Cost Estimator (CCE) credential or similar professional certification.
