About the Role

We’re seeking a talented Water Resources Engineer to join our growing team of environmental professionals. In this remote position, you’ll work on comprehensive water resources planning and design projects for municipal, industrial, and federal clients. Your expertise will help communities manage stormwater, optimize water distribution systems, and implement flood control measures.

As a Water Resources Engineer, you’ll conduct hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, prepare engineering reports, and design sustainable water management infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including environmental scientists, civil engineers, and GIS specialists to deliver integrated solutions. Key Responsibilities

Technical Analysis & Design

• Perform hydraulic modeling and hydrologic analysis using HEC-RAS, SWMM, and other industry software
• Design stormwater management systems, detention basins, and flood mitigation infrastructure
• Conduct water balance studies and evaluate water supply alternatives
• Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents

Project Development

• Develop comprehensive water resources master plans for municipal clients
• Support environmental permitting processes and regulatory compliance activities
• Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies on water resource initiatives
• Lead client meetings and present technical findings to stakeholders

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in water resources engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months
• Experience with EPA regulations and NPDES stormwater permit requirements

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and water modeling software
• Strong understanding of FEMA floodplain management standards
• Knowledge of green infrastructure and low-impact development practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary Range

$75,000 – $95,000 USD/year
