Are you a passionate Water Resources Engineer looking to make a lasting impact on communities and ecosystems — all from the comfort of your home? Our fully remote team is seeking a talented engineer to lead innovative water management projects across the country. With a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a culture built on trust and flexibility, this is your opportunity to build a career that truly matters without sacrificing work-life balance.
About the Role
We’re a growing environmental and civil engineering consultancy dedicated to solving some of the most pressing water challenges of our time — from urban stormwater management to watershed restoration and sustainable infrastructure design. As a fully remote organization, we bring together the best talent from across the nation to deliver world-class solutions to our clients.
As a Remote Water Resources Engineer, you will play a central role in planning, designing, and managing water resource systems for municipal, commercial, and environmental clients. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, utilize cutting-edge modeling software, and contribute to projects that directly protect public health and natural ecosystems.
What You’ll Do
Project Design & Analysis
Lead the design and evaluation of stormwater management systems, drainage networks, flood mitigation strategies, and water supply infrastructure. You’ll use tools such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD, and GIS platforms to develop detailed engineering plans and models.
Client Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders to understand project goals, provide technical guidance, and deliver clear, professional reports. You will also participate in virtual meetings and present findings to diverse audiences.
Regulatory Compliance & Permitting
Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including NPDES permits, Clean Water Act requirements, and municipal stormwater ordinances. You will prepare permit applications and coordinate with regulatory bodies as needed.
Mentorship & Team Growth
Support the professional development of junior engineers and interns by providing guidance, conducting technical reviews, and fostering a collaborative remote work culture.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in water resources engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, MIKE).
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS or QGIS.
- Experience with stormwater design, Low Impact Development (LID), and green infrastructure practices.
- Familiarity with federal and state water regulations and permitting processes.
Soft Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and self-discipline in a remote work environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to mentor others.

Based on current industry standards and national averages for water resources engineers, the estimated salary range for this role is:
$75,000 – $115,000 USD per year
Exact compensation will depend on experience, education, PE licensure status, and geographic considerations for state-specific pay adjustments. Additional performance-based bonuses may be available.
