About the Role

As a Remote Water Resources Engineer, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions for stormwater management, watershed restoration, and water supply optimization. You’ll leverage advanced modeling tools to assess flood risk, design green infrastructure, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling using software such as HEC‑RAS, SWMM, and EPA‑NET.
• Design stormwater best management practices (BMPs), low‑impact development (LID) features, and flood mitigation structures.
• Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and construction documents for municipal, industrial, and private clients.
• Conduct field data collection oversight and coordinate with subcontractors for site investigations.
• Stay current on emerging water‑resource technologies, climate adaptation strategies, and regulatory changes.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and support knowledge‑sharing initiatives within the remote team.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure within 24 months.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in water resources engineering, including hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and stormwater design.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects on schedule and within budget for public‑sector or private‑sector clients.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, SWMM, EPA‑NET, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS).
• Strong grasp of hydraulic principles, sediment transport, and water quality modeling.
• Experience with NEPA documentation, Section 404 permits, and state‑specific stormwater manuals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; comfortable presenting technical findings to stakeholders.
