About the Role

AquaTech Solutions, a leading provider of water infrastructure and sustainability consulting services, is expanding its team with a fully remote Water Resources Engineer. In this position you will partner with clients ranging from municipal agencies to private utilities to develop integrated water management solutions that address growing demand, aging infrastructure, and climate variability. The role blends technical analysis with stakeholder engagement, offering the chance to influence projects that protect ecosystems, improve flood resilience, and support clean water initiatives across the country.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive watershed assessments and hydrologic simulations using advanced tools such as SWMM, HEC‑RAS, and GIS to evaluate water availability and flood risk.
  • Design and size stormwater management systems, drinking water supply networks, and wastewater conveyance solutions that meet regulatory standards and sustainability goals.
  • Develop detailed engineering reports, feasibility studies, and cost‑benefit analyses for presentation to clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with civil engineers, environmental scientists, and policy experts to integrate multidisciplinary perspectives into project designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and field technicians, ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is strongly preferred, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in water resources planning or hydraulic modeling.
  • Proficiency with industry‑standard software including ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex datasets, perform statistical analyses, and translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of producing technical documentation and presenting to diverse audiences.

Preferred Experience

Ideal Background

  • Hands‑on experience managing large‑scale water infrastructure projects, such as dam upgrades, stormwater retention basins, or water‑recycling facilities.
  • Familiarity with sustainable water management practices, green infrastructure, and climate‑adaptation strategies.
  • Proven success working remotely, with strong self‑discipline and effective virtual collaboration habits.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, including the Clean Water Act, EPA permitting processes, and state water codes.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and leading cross‑functional project teams in virtual environments.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $55,000 to $75,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance bonuses, professional development allowances, and a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Full suite of health, dental, and vision insurance plans, including options for dependents.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with generous employer matching contributions.
  • Annual stipend for continuing education, certifications, and conference attendance.
  • Generous paid time off, holidays, and parental leave policies.
  • Wellness program featuring mental health resources, fitness subsidies, and employee assistance services.
  • Professional growth opportunities through mentorship, internal training modules, and project diversification.
