Join a visionary team of environmental experts as a Remote Water Resources Engineer. Leverage your technical expertise to design resilient water infrastructure and solve critical hydrological challenges from the comfort of your home office.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Water Resources Engineer to join our growing team. In this 100% remote position, you will be at the forefront of sustainable water management, focusing on the design, analysis, and implementation of systems that protect our most precious resource. You will work closely with municipal clients and environmental agencies to develop innovative solutions for stormwater management, flood mitigation, and wastewater treatment.

This is not just a technical role; it is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on climate resilience. You will be responsible for conducting complex hydrological modeling, preparing detailed technical reports, and ensuring that all projects meet stringent environmental regulations. If you are a problem-solver who thrives on autonomy and possesses a deep commitment to ecological sustainability, this is the perfect career move for you.

Salary Range

$85,000 – $125,000 USD/year (Depending on experience and certifications)

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design & Modeling

You will utilize industry-standard software to create precise hydraulic and hydrologic models. Your primary focus will be simulating water flow, predicting flood patterns, and designing drainage systems that minimize environmental impact. You will be expected to translate complex data into actionable engineering blueprints.

Project Management & Compliance

Managing the lifecycle of water resource projects from inception to completion is a core part of this role. You will coordinate with stakeholders via virtual collaboration tools, ensure all designs comply with state and federal environmental laws, and oversee the quality assurance of all technical documentation.

Sustainable Innovation

We encourage our engineers to think outside the box. You will research and implement “Green Infrastructure” solutions, such as permeable pavements and bioswales, to reduce urban runoff and improve water quality in the communities we serve.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in water resources or hydrological engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.

Technical Proficiency

  • Advanced expertise in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, or similar hydraulic modeling software.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS (ArcGIS) for spatial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of hydrology principles, including rainfall-runoff analysis and groundwater flow.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high productivity and meeting strict deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous professional development.
