About the Role

As a remote Structural Engineer, you will lead the analysis, design, and documentation of structural systems for commercial, mixed-use, and light industrial projects. From framing concepts to construction administration, you’ll translate architectural vision into safe, buildable reality while coordinating with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors across multiple time zones. Your calculations and models will guide material selection, cost efficiency, and resilience strategies that protect people and profits.

Working primarily in advanced BIM and analysis platforms, you’ll run gravity and lateral load studies, size members, and produce clear, code-checked drawings that streamline permitting and fabrication. You will also support peer reviews, mentor junior staff through virtual design critiques, and refine details that prevent field issues before they arise. This is a high-ownership role where clarity in communication is as critical as clarity in calculations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, timber, and cold-formed steel systems.
• Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and calculation packages aligned with IBC, ASCE, and local amendments.
• Coordinate clash detection and integration with architectural and MEP models in collaborative cloud environments.
• Conduct wind, seismic, and gravity load evaluations to optimize member sizing and connection design.
• Support permitting, plan checks, and construction administration via virtual meetings and document control.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, QA/QC workflows, and performance-based design strategies.

Requirements

We expect a strong technical foundation paired with remote work discipline. You should be comfortable leading design decisions with minimal supervision while maintaining rigorous quality standards across distributed workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Professional Engineer license or EIT with active progress toward licensure in at least one U.S. state.
• 3–7 years of structural design experience on commercial or institutional projects.
• Proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structural System, or equivalent analysis tools.
• Advanced knowledge of building codes, load paths, and connection design principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration and client-facing clarity.

Salary Range

$85,000 – $125,000 USD/year, commensurate with experience, licensure, and scope of responsibility. Full-time, salaried position with performance-aligned incentives.
