About the Role

As a Remote Structural Engineer, you will own the structural design lifecycle from concept through construction documentation. You’ll collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and project managers across multiple time zones, leveraging cloud‑based modeling platforms to ensure seamless coordination. Your expertise will directly influence safety, sustainability, and cost‑efficiency on projects ranging from commercial campuses to public transit hubs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and validate structural systems using steel, concrete, timber, and composite materials.
• Perform non‑linear finite element analysis, seismic design, and wind load assessments in accordance with ASCE, AISC, ACI, and local codes.
• Produce detailed construction drawings, specifications, and calculation packages for permit submission.
• Lead virtual design reviews, clash detection sessions, and value‑engineering workshops.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex detailing challenges.

Requirements

Education & Licensure

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state; willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.

Technical Proficiency

• Expert-level experience with Revit Structure, Tekla Structures, or similar BIM authoring tools.
• Advanced knowledge of analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, or STAAD.Pro.
• Strong command of code‑based design standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, NDS).

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of progressive structural design experience on commercial, institutional, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record of delivering projects from schematic design through construction administration in a remote or distributed team environment.

Salary Range
