About the Role

As a Remote Structural Engineer, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop detailed structural models, perform analysis, and produce construction documents for a variety of building types. Your expertise will ensure that every design meets code requirements, budget constraints, and sustainability goals—all without ever stepping into a traditional office.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis using industry‑standard software (ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structure, or similar).
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications for foundations, frames, walls, and roof systems.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to resolve design conflicts.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during construction phases.
• Stay current with building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC) and incorporate best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Participate in value‑engineering workshops to optimize material usage and reduce carbon footprint.
• Assist in preparing proposals and client presentations that highlight structural innovation.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligible to obtain within 12 months.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in structural design for commercial or residential projects.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with analysis and design tools such as ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structure, Tekla, or Revit Structure.
• Strong understanding of lateral load systems (wind, seismic) and foundation design.
• Experience with BIM workflows and clash detection.
• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration via video conferencing and cloud‑based document sharing.
