About the Role
As a Remote Shift Manager you will own the end‑to‑end performance of a multi‑disciplinary shift spanning customer support, operations, and quality assurance. You’ll translate strategic goals into actionable shift plans, monitor real‑time KPIs, and intervene proactively to prevent service gaps. Your leadership will directly impact customer satisfaction scores, employee engagement, and revenue retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and publish weekly shift schedules that balance workload, skill mix, and labor cost targets.
- Conduct daily huddles and end‑of‑shift debriefs to align priorities, celebrate wins, and surface blockers.
- Monitor live dashboards (SLAs, occupancy, CSAT, AHT) and execute rapid corrective actions.
- Coach agents through real‑time feedback, structured 1‑on‑1s, and targeted development plans.
- Collaborate with Workforce Management, Training, and Product teams to refine forecasting models and process documentation.
- Escalate critical incidents, lead root‑cause analyses, and implement preventive controls.
- Maintain compliance with labor regulations, company policies, and data‑security standards across all jurisdictions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of shift‑lead or supervisory experience in a high‑volume contact‑center, e‑commerce, or SaaS support environment.
- Proven ability to manage remote teams of 15‑30 agents across multiple time zones.
- Expertise with workforce‑management tools (e.g., NICE, Verint, Playvox) and CRM platforms (Salesforce, Zendesk, Kustomer).
- Strong analytical mindset—comfortable building Excel/Google‑Sheets models, SQL queries, or Tableau dashboards.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to convey complex operational changes clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Six Sigma, Lean, or ITIL.
- Experience scaling support operations from 50 to 200+ agents.
- Fluency in Spanish or French for multilingual queue oversight.
Salary Range
$48,000 – $68,000 USD per year (base salary plus performance‑based quarterly bonus). The final offer reflects experience level, geographic cost‑of‑living adjustments, and demonstrated impact in prior remote leadership roles.
Benefits & Perks
- 100% remote—work from any U.S. location with a reliable internet connection.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage (company pays 90% of premiums).
- 401(k) with 4% employer match, immediate vesting.
- Unlimited PTO plus 10 paid company holidays.
- $1,200 annual home‑office stipend for ergonomic equipment and high‑speed internet.
- Quarterly leadership development budget ($500) for courses, conferences, or certifications.
- Employee‑stock‑purchase plan (ESPP) with a 15% look‑back discount.
Company Culture
We operate on a “trust‑first” philosophy: outcomes matter more than hours logged. Our distributed team meets weekly for a virtual all‑hands, monthly for cross‑functional hackathons, and annually for an in‑person retreat (travel covered). Transparency is baked into our DNA—real‑time metrics, open‑door leadership Slack channels, and a peer‑recognition platform keep everyone aligned and celebrated.
How to Succeed in This Role
- Embrace data‑driven decision making; let the numbers guide scheduling tweaks and coaching priorities.
- Build rapport quickly—schedule brief video check‑ins with each agent during the first 30 days.
- Iterate fast: pilot a new queue‑routing rule, measure impact for two weeks, then scale or retire.
