Recent Activity
Lead complex electrical systems design, commissioning, and optimization for distributed energy and smart infrastructure—all from a fully remote workstation. We pair deep engineering expertise with modern collaboration tools so you can deliver code-compliant, high-reliability solutions without commuting. Join a mission-driven team scaling resilient power networks while you choose where you live and work.
About the Role
As a Remote Senior Electrical Engineer, you will own end-to-end electrical design and integration for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects. From load analysis and fault studies to control schematics and site commissioning support, you’ll translate business and technical requirements into safe, efficient, and code-compliant systems. You’ll collaborate daily with cross-functional teams spanning power systems, controls, civil, and product using cloud-based design tools and agile workflows.
This is a fully remote role built for impact. You’ll review contractor submittals, mentor junior engineers, define protection and grounding strategies, and drive continuous improvement in standards and deliverables. Whether refining arc-flash mitigation, optimizing distribution layouts, or supporting DER interconnection studies, you’ll advance projects that modernize how communities generate, store, and use electricity. Your insights will shape reliability, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness across portfolios.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop electrical one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and detailed schematics for new construction and retrofit projects.
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash analyses to meet NFPA 70E and IEEE standards.
- Specify equipment including transformers, switchgear, UPS, drives, lighting controls, and grounding systems.
- Support permitting, plan reviews, and utility interconnection with clear documentation and timely responses.
- Provide remote commissioning guidance and field troubleshooting liaison to contractors and clients.
- Maintain and evolve design standards, checklists, and quality assurance processes across distributed teams.
- Mentor junior staff through design reviews, code interpretation, and professional development planning.
Requirements
We seek a disciplined engineer who combines technical depth with remote collaboration excellence. You communicate with clarity, document with precision, and balance multiple priorities while upholding safety and quality. Proficiency in industry-standard software and a strong grasp of NEC, NESC, and relevant IEEE standards are essential. You thrive in an asynchronous-first environment, proactively unblocking progress and sharing knowledge across time zones.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred) and a Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain one in target service states.
- 7+ years of electrical design and commissioning experience in commercial, industrial, or utility-scale projects.
- Advanced skills in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, ETAP or similar power analysis tools, and Microsoft Office 365.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE 1584, and arc-flash hazard analysis processes.
- Experience with distribution equipment, motor controls, VFDs, PLC I/O, lighting controls, and grounding/protection design.
- Track record of leading design reviews, submittal packages, and utility interconnection documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to distill complex technical topics for diverse audiences.
- Comfort with remote workflows, including video collaboration, ticketing systems, and cloud document management.
Benefits
We invest in your growth, wellness, and long-term stability while honoring the autonomy that remote work provides. Our benefits are designed to remove friction so you can focus on engineering excellence and career progression without compromise.
Compensation and Salary Range
Competitive pay aligned with senior-level expertise and national benchmarks. Salary Range: $115,000 – $155,000 USD/year, with performance-based bonuses and equity participation.
Comprehensive Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage with telehealth options for remote access to care.
- 401(k) with company match and financial wellness resources.
- Flexible PTO and company holidays that respect your time and recharge cycles.
- Home office stipend and ongoing allowances for software, hardware, and ergonomic upgrades.
- Professional development budget for certifications, courses, and conference attendance.
- Parental leave and family support programs to balance life’s major milestones.
- Peer recognition programs and clear promotion pathways tied to impact and leadership.
- Wellbeing initiatives including mental health resources, fitness reimbursements, and virtual community events.
Why This Remote Role Works
Modern electrical engineering thrives on precision, not presence. Our distributed model removes geographic constraints so you can solve hard problems alongside world-class peers. We standardize processes, invest in collaboration tools, and protect deep-focus time, enabling faster decisions and higher-quality deliverables. You’ll see your designs move from concept to commissioning while enjoying the flexibility to structure your day around peak creativity and family needs.
