About the Role

As a Remote Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical care, you will provide comprehensive nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary interventions for patients recovering from surgery or managing acute medical conditions. You will leverage secure video conferencing, electronic health records, and remote monitoring tools to ensure timely interventions, patient education, and seamless communication with physicians, specialists, and family members.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual patient assessments, including vital sign review, symptom analysis, and postoperative status checks.
• Develop and update evidence‑based care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide patient and caregiver education on medication management, wound care, activity restrictions, and signs of complications.
• Monitor remote patient data (e.g., Bluetooth‑enabled devices) and escalate concerns to the appropriate clinician.
• Document all interactions accurately in the EHR, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of residence (compact license preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Proficiency with telehealth platforms, EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar), and remote monitoring technology.
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• BSN preferred; ADN with equivalent experience considered.
