Join a forward-thinking quantitative research team and turn complex market data into actionable trading strategies. This fully remote Quantitative Researcher role is ideal for an analytical problem-solver who thrives at the intersection of finance, statistics, programming, and machine learning.

About the Quantitative Researcher Role

You will investigate financial markets, develop predictive models, and test systematic trading ideas using large historical and real-time datasets. Working closely with researchers, developers, and portfolio managers, you will help identify market inefficiencies and transform quantitative insights into practical investment solutions.

This 100% remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating with a high-performing global team. You will have the opportunity to contribute across the full research lifecycle, from hypothesis generation and data analysis to model validation and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research financial markets, trading signals, and behavioral patterns using statistical and computational methods.
  • Design, develop, backtest, and optimize quantitative models and systematic trading strategies.
  • Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to identify meaningful relationships and predictive opportunities.
  • Evaluate model performance, risk exposure, transaction costs, capacity, and robustness across different market conditions.
  • Create clear research reports, visualizations, and presentations for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate remotely with quantitative developers to transition validated research into production-ready systems.
  • Monitor deployed strategies and recommend improvements based on performance data and changing market dynamics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in quantitative finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, physics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with research libraries such as NumPy, pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn, or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of probability, statistics, regression analysis, time-series modeling, and machine learning techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with financial datasets, including market prices, fundamentals, alternative data, or portfolio metrics.
  • Experience designing rigorous backtests while accounting for survivorship bias, look-ahead bias, overfitting, and transaction costs.
  • Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex findings clearly.
  • Ability to work independently, manage research priorities, and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing systematic trading strategies for equities, futures, foreign exchange, fixed income, or digital assets.
  • Familiarity with portfolio optimization, risk modeling, factor research, or algorithmic execution.
  • Knowledge of SQL, R, C++, MATLAB, cloud computing, or distributed data-processing frameworks.
  • Published research, competition experience, or a portfolio demonstrating quantitative modeling and financial analysis.

Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this remote Quantitative Researcher position is $120,000–$180,000 USD per year, depending on experience, technical expertise, research track record, and qualifications. Performance-based compensation may also be available.
